1. Beltane (April 30 - May 2) was pretty awesome. ( Beltane stuff, including Bard of the West competition )

I just headed over to BookBuyers after returning a couple of movies and, lo and behold, they not only had a copy of "Courtly Dances of the Renaissance/Nobilta di Dame" (16th century dance manual by Caroso), but a CD of a selection of the Cantigas de Santa Maria. Whee! Only cost me $16, too. Happy, happy.

So, even though I've had a little over a week for this to sink in, I've still gotta say it: OMG, I'm a Baroness! The dress was barely finished on time (I finished hemming it around noon the day I wore it), but it looked amazing! Yeah, Tempest played up here last night, and it was a blast (as usual). I danced the entire first set, but partway into the second set, I tripped over myself and ended up on my butt on the dance floor. So, I'm depressed again. I can't concentrate on anything school-related, and I've been missing a bunch of class. This is not going to be a good semester. And it was looking so promising, too. I'm applying to be a counselor at the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp this summer. It sounds like a lot of fun, and it'll be really good experience for me. It's a music camp for youth, though the focus is more instrumental than vocal. That was kind of disappointing to learn, but at least I still play my horn... occasionally...
