Shannon doesn't take days off work very often, so we usually try to make a real effort to spend fun, relaxing time together when he does. I went to CWC for a couple hours today, and it was reasonably enjoyable. I went on the walk with the walking group, and everyone was at a loss about where to go, so I played tour guide and took them on a ramble up to North Gate; recommended that they all try the excellent (and cheap) split pea soup at the nearby Stuffed Inn; took them to see this ( Read more... )

It turns out that Cobweb's kidney infection persists, so the vet has started us giving her different antibiotics which will continue for the next 3-4 weeks. These new antibiotics are in pill form, but Shannon and I now have a pill shooter (acquired one night after-hours at the vet, because we had despaired of pilling C without one -- my fingertips ( Read more... )

8.9 earthquakes freak me out. I always imagine what it would be like if it happened here. I've grown up my whole life experiencing earthquakes, but I've never been in an earthquake that big, thank goodness.
