I haven't been doing so well. Stress, anxiety, depression, exhaustion, blah blah blah. There are lots of things that are either going wrong or worrying me or otherwise demanding my negative attention, some large and some ridiculously small:

The current flurry of post-refi work on our house -- which has been going on for a full year (if you don't count the fact that I started actively calling contractors in frickin' mid-2009!) -- is neeeeearly finished! The knee is much better today and only woke me up a few times last night. Hurray!

Shannon and I spent a couple hours this evening packing stuff up and moving storage bins out to our fabulous new garage with its fabulous new shelves. The closets are suddenly so spacious! We are also getting rid of a lot of stuff. I mean, is there really any chance ( Read more... )

I've been busy busy busy lately, largely due to our recent efforts to rearrange rooms and furniture and get our stuff organized so that we can move some of it into the garage (the cement floor of which seems to be almost dry now ... weeks after it was poured!). Much purging today ... of the ownership kind, not the digestive kind. We plan to move a bunch of stuff into the garage this weekend (if the cement is dry), so I've been going through all my junk that's been sitting in cardboard boxes in the closet for years. We now have a truly completed garage! Ting's guy finished the cement floor today, and it looks great. If the cement is dry enough (which we aren't sure about, since the garage doesn't have much ventilation and we don't want to leave the door open until the cement is dry enough to deter college kids who want to scrawl stuff on our property for ( Read more... )

I've been super busy lately, because Shannon and I have been rearranging the upstairs rooms of our house. The rain mostly held off today. Hurrah! But it's raining right now, and it is expected to continue tomorrow. As of 1:30 this afternoon, our garage is FINISHED! This thing has been needing to be done since we bought the house ... back in 2000!
