I've had some kind of medication issue that has been causing me to sleep 12-14 hours/day, but we think we may have fixed it by lowering my risperidone/risperdal from 1.5 to 1 mg/day. Jay's back in the hospital, as they had to completely redo the complex surgery on both his wrists. They'd been planning to send him home immediately afterward, but they weren't able to get his pain level under control and so finally accepted that they would need to admit him again. It turns out that Cobweb's kidney infection persists, so the vet has started us giving her different antibiotics which will continue for the next 3-4 weeks. These new antibiotics are in pill form, but Shannon and I now have a pill shooter (acquired one night after-hours at the vet, because we had despaired of pilling C without one -- my fingertips ( Read more... )

I'm *loving* Nine Princes in Amber. I think I may be enjoying it more than any other book Shannon and I have read aloud together over the years. (Though Shannon did amazing voices for the rabbits in Watership Down.)
