Got the biopsy results from the dermatologist. The latest unusual mole was benign but "atypical" (showing abnormal cells that indicate a risk of melanoma), but the doc says she's sure that she removed the entire thing & so isn't worried. Saw the dermatologist yesterday, and she found a mole that looked bad, so she did a biopsy. It's probably fine, as this happens every year or two & only once did the tests show results bad enough that she had to do a full excision, but I'll know for sure when they call with the results sometime within the next two weeks. Our house is now pretty much made of cake. Yesterday, on Shannon's birthday, we stopped by Berkeley Bowl on our way home from Shannon's San Francisco Birthday Adventure, because there was a need for birthday cake. Now that I've been trying to treat and protect my dry, calloused feet, I've remembered the situation when I first started wearing my flip-flops every day, about a year and a half ago: namely, that my tennis shoes suck.
