Last night viridis_ama, my sister, and I went to the Jann Arden concert as a delayed Christmas present for my sis.

Holy crap yes, Winnipeg!

I do have to admit that they seemed a little rough on the Garwood Grill (only 7 out of 10), but he does also seem to gravitate toward things like the Fort Garry and the Tallest Poppy... which I do consider a different experience from a "greasy spoon".

But hey, this could be a valuable resource!

I have come to the conclusion that I have spent far too much time admiring Bryan Scott's photography of Winnipeg to not buy his book.  A future allocation of money will be going toward that ( Read more... )

This disappearance seems to coincide with the building of bike paths and traffic calming circles. I now believe, with no research at all, that all these traffic calming measures are in fact a means to placate the Beer Snake. The traffic circles are actually caps that mark ( Read more... )

Once again as Winnipeg makes a creaking step forward, advancing their traffic calming/active transportation network, the local sticks remain firmly mired.

Now, not only do the poor defenceless motorists have to put up with sharrows, but actual bike lanes and completely separate bike paths that are up on the curbs ( Read more... )

I can apparently re-watch the "Does Winnipeg Exist" YouTube video a couple times a year and find it amusing enough.  I think I find it more amusing that they at least reference Winnipeg in both The Simpsons and Futurama, but there is saying that some things go deeper than that.But then again, I did find a new toy care of CBC ( Read more... )
