Where I live there are HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes and roads that require you have a certain number of people in the vehicle in order to use them. There are often police officers waiting at entrance and exit ramps to ticket offenders. Last weekend I had a 2-day class in Loudoun County: Airport Rescue Fire Fighting for Structural Fire Fighters. It was mostly classroom with a one afternoon spend out on the tarmac lookign at small planes, medivac helicopters, and fuel trucks. There was no fire. Someone who knows what they're doing can squeal the tires on just about any car with a manual transmission. Judicious use of the gas pedal with the proper application of clutch is all it takes. Last week as a pre-vacation vacation from my unemployment I drove to TN.

My parents, brother, and his girlfriend were going horseback riding so I met them at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. I got enjoy riding a VERY curvy (read: hairpins) road down into the gorge and back up the other side. I did this just to get from one side ( Read more... )
