Okay, so the last thing this part of the state needed was another thunderstorm.  I managed to outrun it and make it to the city just in time, but it'll be here, soon too.  I was just in time.  And as much as I love my little coffeeshop in town, it's nice to have a Panera to come to in the city that's anonymous.  Mixes things up a little.

So it's official- I have finally seen Pirates 3!  I know that a lot of people reviewed it as being really really bad, but I have to admit, I liked it a lot, and thought that it was better than the second one.  The jokes were good, the plot was nice and convoluted like the first one, and the special effects were, of course, fantastic.  A few ( Read more... )

Anyways, I've been reading a lot- and recently found a new author.  He'd been recommended to me before, as a good quasi-steampunk author, but to my surprise the local library actually had a copy of one of his books.  It isn't really a sequel, just set in ( Read more... )

I think I need to sand the bottoms of these shoes, or put down some kind of covering on the hardwood stairs at my house- yes, I fell again.  Apparently this only happens in the morning when I'm running late, but as I'm almost always running late in the mornings, either I need to keep these shoes downstairs or I need to get more coordinated.

I think I managed to do this without any real spoilers....
I found myself fast forwarding through large chunks of it and laughing (in a bad way) at other parts.  The plot was contrived, the romantic spark was long dead, and the character list seemed to be the writers challenging themselves to create and then reform as many villains as possible.  ( Read more... )

I'm making a practice sock- I found a pattern that lets you crochet socks, so I'm trying it out with cheap yarn first.  I also found out that the variety store in town has reasonably priced cotton yarn, which is great.
