Mousetraps?

Dec 10, 2007 10:02

My grandmother sent me mousetraps.

No, that isn't a code, there aren't Indians in the lobby- my grandmother actually mailed me mousetraps.  I went to the mailbox, there was a little box addressed to me from her, and I was thinking, "Oooh, cookies?" or maybe a Christmas ornament and I opened the box-- mousetraps.  With a note explaining how to use them.

Sweet of her, but not exactly our program as usual.

In other news, I preached a sermon yesterday that I'm told was my best here so far, and managed to swing a fairly heavy bat against censorship while doing it, so that was great.  I'll try to post it later, I don't have it on this computer.  (It uses "The Golden Compass" as an illustration.  Speaking of which, I saw the movie, and it isn't bad.  Earns the PG 13 rating with a couple battle scenes, and I have no idea if you could follow it if you haven't read the books, and for those who have read them the movie ends about three pages earlier than the book does.  But they got the overall feel of the thing right.  Oh, and Nicole Kidman rocks.  As does Daniel Craig.)

Anyways, at the moment I'm chugging coffee because my supervisor, who's a great guy but occasionally is a trifle odd, made coffee for two and then went out to coffee with a member of the staff.  Not that I have a problem with going out to coffee- but coffee going to waste rubs me the wrong way on several levels, and the office secretary doesn't want any, so I'm going to be quite caffeinated today.
