this is nothing like a coherent review, just some screencaps and my initial impressions. a cashier quit and i picked up most of her shifts, so i may not have time to review the first few eps for a couple days here

fun plot aside, Normandy was a great ep for examining character relationships (not just shippy ones, although oh WOW did it bring the romance in a really understated way). Going to break this down one member of the Five at a time:

Nikola Tesla

I love the way things that happen in past eps come into play in future ones (like the auto-type, Magnus' crack about not all Nazis breathing air, etc)

Got to say, the season's really hit its stride again. Can't wait for more eps if they're like this one

this may be more stream-of-consciousness than usual as I'm currently out of it from puking and from strong stomach meds (did you know that most of the ones currently in use were anti-seizure or anti-psychotic meds first?). my own fault for getting a baked potato from a fast food joint. anyhow, random thoughts as i had them

is it bad that I walked into this ep kind of hoping that Abby and Erika dump Will and Henry for each other? I can't help it. Two of my ships!!! *wibbles and then notes that the ladies do kind of look good together, so... yeah*

my disjointed impressions of the ep (which I didn't really like except for a few cool moments)

Maybe it's the drugs and pain, but pretty much everything she did tonight annoyed me. It takes real talent to make Will look like the fearless, unflappable stoic one in a situation and she managed. I don't know how she got into the FBI at all and the rest is a bit spoilery, so i'm putting it under a cut
