[She should be more concerned about the fact she went from being in New York to being here, but Claire can't really be bothered but to do anything but stare at the beautiful scene surrounding her. She's holding a phone in one hand and knows that she's recording, but doesn't really make any hurry to do anything interesting. She's standing in the

But he's never actually met her. There have been times when he's wondered why. After all, weren't his paintings part of the reason she was saved all that time ago in Odessa? Each time the curiosity emerged, Isaac has always returned to the theory that Noah just never wanted his daughter acquainted with a strung-out drug addict. Completely understandable, in retrospect.
He finds himself intrigued. It's just kind of a shock to see her here, especially when he knows what a protective father Noah is. Putting another man's mental and physical health on the line just to gather more information about a serial killer plotting to murder her was definitely father love ( ... )

It's tempting to do the second option, but instead she just arches her eyebrows and puts on a smirk that looks far braver than she's actually feeling.]
I hear that a lot.
[She does note that he doesn't entirely look like the usual creeper that stalks her or tries to kill her, and the fact that his smile isn't sinister is helping things here. But still, he knows who she is, and that she's a cheerleader. And the fact that she's somehow given him trouble is bothersome.]
It might be a good idea to tell me who you are, though. You know, before I have to scream for the nearest adult.
[She pauses]
Which would be you, since I'm talking to you, but...well, you know what I mean.
Reply
You don't. Not when you're Isaac. ]
Sorry. My name is Isaac Mendez. I...I know your father. And Peter Petrelli.
[ He pauses, looking a little uncertain. He's been able to gather just how close Peter and Claire are, and he can't risk Claire revealing too much too quickly. It's bizarre, how he's almost protecting Peter from his own memories, but it seems necessary.]
Peter is here as well.

If you're with The Company, just stay away from me. They've done enough to ruin my life, and I don't care if my father's involved, I'm not their pawn they can just pass around!
[Then it dawns on her that he said another name, and she gasps, and looks all kinds of shocked.]
Peter's here? I have to find him, he's probably looking for me!
[If he knows Peter, then maybe he isn't with The Company at all.
...maybe.]

She opens her mouth to speak, and remembers that she needs to be careful, and then clamps her jaw shut tight. She forces herself to not look hurt that she's only "The Cheerleader" to Peter, and just nods.]
That would be -
[She feels too guilty when he's looking at her like that, like he's searching for something that only she can give him. She bites at her lip and eventually lets out a sigh, and her resolve crumples.
So she gives him a lopsided little hint of a smile and nods a little more eagerly this time around.]
I know you, too. You're my hero.

I saved you?
[ Peter's lips turn up in a small smile. ]
By saving you, did I save the world?
Reply
Save the cheerleader, save the world. Right?
[She lifts her head and looks back at him now, eyes wet with the threat of tears. She swallows with a gulp, and tries to not look as sad or as empty as she currently is feeling.
She gets to be reunited with Peter, and she's not alone in this strange place, but he can't remember a thing about her. She wonders if maybe she's being punished for something.
She loves Peter, and he's her family, and he's supposed to remember who in the heck she is!! It isn't any fair, and with that thought in her mind, the tears begin rapidly building. She knows that she needs to speak again, to keep this conversation moving. When she does, her voice barely comes out a murmur.]
I don't think anything is ever that simple though, Peter.

[Fox is incredibly pleased to hear this, and she can't help but smile cheerily.]
There's no way back yet, not that's been found, anyway, but it's not so bad. My name's Fox. It's nice to meet you, Claire.
Reply
So she takes the best course of action and decides to tell a half-truth.]
Well, my family is from New York. I live in Texas, though.
[She pauses, arching a single eyebrow.]
And is Fox a nickname for something, or are you a musician?
[Because musicians in New York probably went by things like Fox, right? Maybe she was a model or an actress. Yes, Claire is a terrible person and just assumes things like this.]
Reply
[She doesn't see why the girl would lie, so she doesn't question it. Her smile is easy and relaxed.]
Fox is my legal name. I got it changed. I'm an actress, or I was. I'm just a mom now.
[She seems so proud of that, but it's undercut with sadness and worry. She has a family to get home to.]
Reply
She frowns, and bows her head, and nods in understanding.]
I already miss my mom. I was away from her for a week or so before I ended up here. I hope you're able to get home to your kids.
[She decides that topic is too depressing to sit and think about, so she goes back to talking about New York. That's a safer topic.]
My family lives in the Upper East Side, so I've spent a little time there.

But sometimes those adventures prove to be necessary.
I've never been to New York, and I am certainly in no hurry to find my way back to California-- but this place takes people from all over. Not only different places, but different times. Different realities altogether.
[For a moment he wavers, unsure of how to introduce himself. But then he just smiles.] My name is Elfangor. I understand that most humans find that to be a strange name - you may call me Alan, if you prefer.
Reply
What, are you not a human or something?
[She laughs, the idea of speaking to someone who wasn't a human entirely entertaining to her. Really, she just wants him to laugh with her, and to tell her he's joking around.
But what if he isn't?
Or maybe she just just reading too much into his phrasing. She makes an awkward face, and glances down, trying to think of a quick way to cover up that question.]
Anyway, Elfangor is as good of a name as any. I can call you that.
Reply
Not... exactly. I am usually human these days, but sometimes I am much more, hmm, blue and furry than this.
[Sure, it may not be wise to fully demorph over the network, but if he only does a little? Shouldn't be that bad.
And so he holds up one hand and focuses, just enough for his skin to shift color, fur springing up and spreading up his arm. But he is no estreen, so it is not a predictable process. More fingers emerge, and his mouth fuses shut, stalk eyes beginning to form. Quickly he negates the process and remorphs human.
Trying to ignore the faint flush of embarrassment for the morph getting away from him, he explains,] I am an Andalite, but I've lived as a human for several years.

But then she remembers that there are people where she's from who probably have abilities like that, and with that thought in mind she's able to pretend that the blue furry guy is just special like her and not some kind of alien.
Curiosity ends up winning out, and she fakes a cough as she masks her horror and tries to look more neutral.]
How are you able to do that?

Hey. I'm Matt, and there isn't a way back, sorry. Think it's pretty safe to say none of us exactly volunteered for this.

I'd have to question the sanity of anyone who wants to wake up in a strange place with no clue about how they got there.
[She smirks at the camera, her eyes obviously settling in on the fact he's smoking. She considers telling him how terrible it is for him, but instead just focuses on the part of what he said that helps her.]
And how long have you been here? There could be a way back you just don't know about yet.
Reply
He has to think about the time, as usual.]
Since the summer, but time's all fubar here. It feels like shorter and longer at the same time.
[He takes another drag.]
I've… looked for a way out. I mean, I kinda don't have anything to go back to, but I tried to, um. Get off the map the Hitomi shows. You can't. Not by just traveling, anyway.
Reply
Great. This is just what I needed in my life.
[She falls quiet for a few moments, and is thinking over the next best question to ask.]
Do you know why we were brought here? I mean, there has to be a reason.
...right?
