[She should be more concerned about the fact she went from being in New York to being here, but Claire can't really be bothered but to do anything but stare at the beautiful scene surrounding her. She's holding a phone in one hand and knows that she's recording, but doesn't really make any hurry to do anything interesting. She's standing in the

But sometimes those adventures prove to be necessary.
I've never been to New York, and I am certainly in no hurry to find my way back to California-- but this place takes people from all over. Not only different places, but different times. Different realities altogether.
[For a moment he wavers, unsure of how to introduce himself. But then he just smiles.] My name is Elfangor. I understand that most humans find that to be a strange name - you may call me Alan, if you prefer.

What, are you not a human or something?
[She laughs, the idea of speaking to someone who wasn't a human entirely entertaining to her. Really, she just wants him to laugh with her, and to tell her he's joking around.
But what if he isn't?
Or maybe she just just reading too much into his phrasing. She makes an awkward face, and glances down, trying to think of a quick way to cover up that question.]
Anyway, Elfangor is as good of a name as any. I can call you that.

Not... exactly. I am usually human these days, but sometimes I am much more, hmm, blue and furry than this.
[Sure, it may not be wise to fully demorph over the network, but if he only does a little? Shouldn't be that bad.
And so he holds up one hand and focuses, just enough for his skin to shift color, fur springing up and spreading up his arm. But he is no estreen, so it is not a predictable process. More fingers emerge, and his mouth fuses shut, stalk eyes beginning to form. Quickly he negates the process and remorphs human.

But then she remembers that there are people where she's from who probably have abilities like that, and with that thought in mind she's able to pretend that the blue furry guy is just special like her and not some kind of alien.
Curiosity ends up winning out, and she fakes a cough as she masks her horror and tries to look more neutral.]
How are you able to do that?

[Granted, this is Andalite technology, not an innate ability, but it is still true if not entirely accurate.]
I believe there are others from New York here. Possibly they are from the same reality you come from? [A faint smile.] Some people here have many familiar faces surrounding them, but the rest of us have very few friends from home with us, if any at all.
[And when people can disappear from here without warning... to lose someone who was once so close, all over again, is not something easily born.
Though it is perhaps not so utterly devastating as it may once have been.]

Someone I know is here, but he doesn't remember me. And there's another man here that knows me, but I have no clue who he is. So...it's complicated, at best.
[That draws a big frown, but she quickly tries to shake it off. People who don't know her don't really care about her hard life. And being a new arrival means she really needs to make as many allies as possible.]
Hopefully more people from home show up here, though.
