Since Dad died last August, Mum has lost two stone. She's never been a big eater (nor a cook, that was Dad's job) and going gluten-free didn't help. If you can get to a Tesco, I will highly recommend the Genius Gluten Free bread. They were out of white but the brown is properly crusty outside and squishy inside. It toasts beautifully. And it slices nicely (and I'm a crap bread-slicer). I am very happy ( Read more... )

Rearranged YB's bedroom. Wardrobe is now by the airing cupboard, the bed is swung around so it's along the wall the wardrobe was on, and the Ikea Trofast storage unit is beside the bed so we can put YB's bedtime drink and library books by the bed. The surgery phoned today to ask me to go in tomorrow and pick up a scrip for the iron tablets. I asked if they could tell me what the actual haemoglobin level was. It was 8.5 - normal range for a healthy woman would be 11-16 or so ( Read more... )
