The Triple Thick is dry and results are mixed. On the one hand, it's unbelievably sealed but on the other, the photo is altered. It's strange; the colors didn't run, the darks are still dark and the lights are still light, but somehow all the detail shadows evaporated. I printed out the portrait of DH and did some testing. I had made a mold of the plastic pendant with Sculpey and used it to make a copy of the pendant (which strangely fit perfectly in another frame pin I had), also out of Sculpey. I forgot to mention my other project last night: a portrait miniature necklace. I 'shopped this pic of DH with an actual miniature and will print it or have it printed when I decide what's the best paper/glue combination for my purposes. I bought a tacky little plastic pendant with a gold metal frame that I will use.

Things seem very busy lately. I think it's the holidays and the fact that DH has been under foot since Tuesday. Despite that, I've managed to put up the Christmas tree and work on several projects:

Wig - I'm going to try to make DH a period wig using human hair from two wiglets. They aren't very long, but I think they'll work with some hairspray. ( Read more... )

I've embroidered around both thumb pieces now, and put a blanket stitch around the thumb opening and arm opening. I don't think I like it though, it looks too modern-crafty. What do you think? Is there a stitch that would be better to finish the "raw" edges ( Read more... )

I wore my mitts Saturday and nearly froze my toes off. It was rainy and muddy and cold and muddy. We almost didn't get our truck back up the hill to leave. It was still fun though, to sit in the tent around the stove and talk to the other ladies ( Read more... )
