I forgot to mention my other project last night: a portrait miniature necklace. I 'shopped this pic of DH with an actual miniature and will print it or have it printed when I decide what's the best paper/glue combination for my purposes. I bought a tacky little plastic pendant with a gold metal frame that I will use.
In other news, I'm now the proud owner of 5 yards of black silk taffeta with a perfect selvedge from Renaissance Fabrics. It's just what I need to redo my vintage umbrella, but I can't decide if I want to use it for that or for a calash, a bonnet, a silk-covered bergere hat, a mantelet, etc. I can probably do a few of those projects, but not all unless I buy some more. ;) I also got a piece of cotton/silk voile that will make a lovely apron. Maybe someday I'll do some pulled thread work on that, too.
I got DH two books for Christmas and I'm bursting to give them to him. I found Libations of the 18th Century and A Sip Through Time, which I know he'll enjoy reading and experimenting with. I may be creating a monster, though; I forsee some strange fermentations in my future.
