It was our last day. Elsa's cold cycled fast and by morning, she was human again. We assessed her nose and chest situation; if she was sneezing or coughing too much, she could not attend the play. Steph left before at 6:00AM for her drive to Gatwick. Elsa came down to the dining room to choke down some porridge. We'd decided she would definitely stay in bed if she hoped to even think about seeing Hamlet the next day. So Friday night, the intrepid fans hustled to the stage door too late. Just before we arrived, the squeeing and cheering went. Hordes Swarmed the barricades and couldn't get near him. The Man moved quickly and was gone in 2 minutes tops. Alas we were foiled but vowed to try again ( Read more... )

Today the weather forecast was for overcast skies with 60% chance rain. Naturally rain started after 3PM and continued into the night. No fireworks, alas. Here's another go at yesterday's recap.

It dawned even lovely and warmer.  Elsa craved exercise, so we walked into a town to the bakery, roughly a 3.6 mile trek uphill and down dale. This was an excellent opportunity to see more of Chester.

Today we rose to another beautiful day.  The in-laws left for their game of golf.  The girls, Xander and I headed to the Grafton Village Cheese Factory.  It's a working cheese factory and we got to watch them make it along with a video on the process.
