Stratford:days 4-5

So Friday night, the intrepid fans hustled to the stage door too late. Just before we arrived, the squeeing and cheering went. Hordes Swarmed the barricades and couldn't get near him. The Man moved quickly and was gone in 2 minutes tops. Alas we were foiled but vowed to try again.

Sunday Steph went to Holy Trinity Church and got caught in protracted baptism service. Elsa was feeling poorly and I was sleepy (naturally). Then we set out for Kenilworth to visit Elsa's friend Gill. I was delighted to meet her and her family. The natives in their natural environment! Hee. Gill took us to Kenilworth Castle and acted as docent. Later we returned to her house where talked everything from soup to nuts and had fish and chips. Thanks so much Gill!

Monday we drove to Warwick, parked and took the train to London. Naturally we headed to the Forbidden Planet where I bought the only 12" Martha doll left and a certain unofficial calendar. I shall put it inside the TV armoire in bedroom like the good closeted fan I am. Alas there was no 12" Ten doll. Elsa was deeply shocked I didn't have one. Sniff. Eventually it started raining and we took refuge in Borders while Steph happily continued shopping. We had dinner at Mela, an Indian place, hopped a train back which ended up sitting on the tracks half way through the journey. Finally a broken down earlier train was moved and we finally got back to our rooms.
