Wednesday I woke up early to pack my stuff up. I had purchased some of those plastic vacuum-travel bag things for this trip (did I mention that in a previous post?). They work pretty well, but it takes a little time to sort out my clothes the best way to squeeze them down.

Tuesday was our last full day in Vegas. We decided to go to the south end of the Strip to see some of the hotels we hadn't explored yet. We took the monorail down to the MGM Grand and went from there. Besides housing Studio54 and some other shows, they also have a Lion habitat there. You can walk in a glass walkway underneath the lions. :) ( Read more... )

Monday was one of the best days of the trip for me. We got up early and took advantage of one of our free buffet coupons at the Imperial Palace. The food was pretty good compared to what I expected. I had pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Then we loaded up the cars to drive out to the Valley of Fire, a state park about an hour north of Vegas ( Read more... )

Saturday started off rather innocently. Young and I both woke up around 8:30, 9am. I guess our bodies thought it was almost noon, so no surprise there. I can't really remember what we did for the first few hours of the day?

I just finished watching the State of the Union address. I thought it was beautiful. It was so positive, enthusiastic, optimistic, hopeful, and fulfilling. If you actually listened to the speech and did not find some hope for the future in it, you must have nothing but total blind hatred for President Bush.
