The Supreme Court holds the first of three oral argument sessions tomorrow on the constitutionality of the PPACA, aka the health care law, aka ObamaCare.

A record-low 10% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, down from 13% in January and the previous low of 11%, recorded in December 2011. Eighty-six percent disapprove of Congress, tying the record high for disapproval set in December.

A new Associated Press-GfK poll finds just 12% of Americans approve of Congress, the lowest measure ever recorded in the poll, with 87% disapproving.

In 1995, a Balanced Budget Amendment to the US Constitution passed the House by the required 2/3rds supermajority, but failed in the Senate by one vote -- a Republican's. (Senator Hatfield of Oregon).

Whether it would have had any plausible chance of passing in 3/4ths of the states I don't know.

80% of us thought it was more likely than not there would be a government shutdown.

But unless something like 14000 votes suddenly appearing happens, it looks like it's not going to happen. But there is still hope! We can all watch another game of chicken soon when the bill to raise the debt limit which must be passed comes up soon.
