It's pretty clear that there is too much noise in the rate measurements to say that the unemployment level has gone up or down in a given month, so let's look at longer perspectives. The unemployment rate went down again, to 8.1% from 8.2%, but it had nothing to do with their being more jobs. Only a net of 115,000 jobs were had, not enough to keep up with increasing population. The drop in unemployment was "entirely due to a drop in the size of the labor force."
