Since returning from China with more than a hundred DVDs, I watched two movies about Shanghainese barbers. I enjoyed them surprisingly much until the final scenes, which are both disorientingly abrupt and strangely optimistic. OMG The Constant Gardener is the most depressing film evar. I laid awake in bed for an hour after that movie. T_T

Also, love Kirsten. There is nothing like a good old-fashioned British romantic comedy with reasonably intelligent dialogue and lovable actors for really cheering one up.
