Wow, what a weekend. Wednesday afternoon,  we headed down to VA to stay with SIL,  merley_edithur , and DH's brother.  We got the grand tour of their new house (awesome!), although we couldn't appreciate the land (3 acres, about half wooded) until the next morning.

I appreciate everyone's advice earlier, I really do, but I think I am the most comfortable with a pet sitter....if I can find one. I have about half a dozen recommendations, including from the vet himself (who I checked in with before deciding to ignore everyone *g*). We're going on vacation in a few months, and I've alread made plans for the cats to go to the vet's to be kenneled (they have kennels that can be shared, so I requested two side-by-side for the two cats, with the door open between them. They're not bad, but it's such a small space and neither cat is happy at going to the vet. I think it will be ( Read more... )

I had a great, busy day yesterday. Went to the sale/trunk show/party at my not-so-LNS, bought some stash, went to lunch, hung out at a stitcher's house & stitched and checked out her stash. Maybe argument is too strong. Guilt, a massive guilt trip, though, from my mother. See, our usual Christmas routine is to go to my aunt's for Christmas Eve dinner, stay over at my mother's (about 10 minutes from my aunt), and then spend Christmas Day with my parents. For the longest time, I resisted EZ-Pass, largely because of the attitude about it in NJ - they were going to pay for the construction via fines, because of course, everyone in NJ is a crook. Grr.
