For the longest time, I resisted EZ-Pass, largely because of the attitude about it in NJ - they were going to pay for the construction via fines, because of course, everyone in NJ is a crook. Grr. Anyway, we're driving to visit the family in Virginia, get stuck at the Deleware tolls, and DH pulls over as soon as we get through, declaring he's buying EZ-Pass, right now. Pretty happy with it now, actually, especially since we don't have to worry about avoiding toll roads due to lack of cash. The only catch? Deleware just imposed a $1.50/mth charge. Since we're not commuters, that's REALLY annoying. Other than the occasional parkway or turnpike toll, we use it about once every other month, admittedly for $15-$20 worth of tolls per trip. I poked around, and NJ & NY both charge $1/mth (although it's well buried), so I don't know if it's worth the hassle to switch. I love my EZ-Pass, but I don't know if $18/year is worth it. It might be, but we'll have to think about it.
