It looks so strange outside here right now because my 30+ foot tall palms have been trimmed for the first time in maybe 6 or 7 years. They were quite shaggy (though it was all a long way off the ground) and now they are there neat, pigeon-free spires that seem quite acceptable to look at. Today is the sesquicentennial of Mexican troops handing out a big old can of whoop-ass to French soldiers in the Battle of Puebla. I finished a book today that I really enjoyed... "The Two Minute Rule" by Robert Crais. It had good characters, an interesting plot, and never lost my attention.

Survivor : One World - Wow. Again... wow. One of the most repulsive things I have seen... elitism, stupidity, arrogance... maybe the most unpalatable and unpleasant and incompetent group of people ever gathered for this game. Leave it to a primarily Formula One driver to crash into a drying truck and cause the biggest fire NASCAR has seen in a long time (Yes, that is, in part, a joke). What a strange, surreal, endlessly bad race (Yet more watchable than 90% of good races could ever be).
