It looks so strange outside here right now because my 30+ foot tall palms have been trimmed for the first time in maybe 6 or 7 years. They were quite shaggy (though it was all a long way off the ground) and now they are there neat, pigeon-free spires that seem quite acceptable to look at. Speaking of the pigeons, they keep flying in toward the tree and then suddenly realizing home sweet home is no more. I probably should feel guilty, but find it hard to think of pigeons in particular as anything more than flying rats.
Well, looks like the Coyotes have met their masters. Kings are whippin' their asses almost without effort. Oh well, to see the team win two playoff series was a thing of wonder. Now all they have to do is sign a final deal and stick around in the valley. Not sure they will ever have the kind of rabid following they would have in a northern city, but we need them nonetheless. I am quite proud of our little ice hockey team, eh.
I have not been very active at anything oher than acclimatizing to summer and catching up on movies and Lost on DVD. I did have to slow down some on Lost though because I only have the first three seasons so far. Such a great show, even in watching it again. Sometimes I am amazed at the little details I missed first time around.
Watching NASCAR, as a Jeff Gordon fan, has become quite painful. This last fiasco with consecutive tires going flat was unbearable. I did find myself pulling for Junior for the first time in awhile. Listening to him talk it is apparent that despite all the hype and stuff that he has become a very grounded and humble man. I am honestly hoping his winless streak does not go all that much longer. Yeah.... I never.... and I mean NEVERRRRRRR.... thought I would say that.
The Survivor : One World finale was quite satisfying. It is not every season that the best player wins, but it is impossible for me not to think that this time the best won out. She ran everyone like a puppetmaster and still came out pretty much unscathed in the jury's eyes. That is not an easy thing to accomplish. Congratulations Kim, you are one I am looking forward to seeing in a future All-Star edition of the show... assuming you choose to take a run at it.
That is about it for now. I had a weird "deja vu" thing at a store the other day. Saw a woman that looked so bloody familiar to me and I could not place her. Still cannot. But for some reason I felt like I had traveled back in time at least a decade LOL. I know I will likely not get it... but who knows.
