I stumbled across this hilariously awesome webcomic Mike the Bookseller about a year ago and I've been loving it ever since.  And as someone who also works in a bookstore, I can verify that some of the episodes are scarily true to life (though I like to think my boss isn't as horrible as Lark or Pat).

I got a job!  I just got a call to say that I'll be working part-time at Chapters bookstore - I'm so happy that I'll no longer be unemployed and broke. ^_^

So it's back to the old routine of looking for a summer job. I put it off until quite late this year not feeling terribly motivated.  But I've got a bunch of resumes out there now so hopefully something will come of them ( Read more... )

The bakers made a bunch of savory scrolls at work today (a scroll is basically a spiral-shaped bun) and one of the flavours was Cheesymite - a mix of cheese and vegemite as it turns out.  Now vegemite isn't exactly a common thing here in Canada - I didn't even know what was in it until I had to read the ingredient list for a curious customer today ( Read more... )
