Saru-chan has braved the rain and the car to got to the vet (and by "braved", I mean "whined constantly and tried to hide under everything"). Everything is nominal; she has been downgraded to "pleasantly plump", and her heart murmur is still murmuring in a relatively harmless fashion. Last night I had a dream that Saru-chan was hunting snakes at my office. She grabbed one in her mouth and shook it violently, then headed off to the elevators to look for more. Last night I was sitting on the couch when qarylla got home. As she walked through the door, another cat ran in. The newcomer, who had no tags, met Saru-chan near the bedroom door, and tried to chat her up. Our fuzzball made herself look big and hissed a bit. Saru-chan is 2 today. So far she's celebrated by getting a pedicure (and purred while trying to fight her way out). Later, she'll be reciving a new jingly ball and will have an increased probability of begging food or petting time from me, and cancelling the minor weight loss she's accomplished (2/10 of a pound, which is like 3 for me).

There is a cute white cat that keeps visiting Saru-chan between midnight and 1 AM to converse with her. We either need to bring this cat into the household or scare it away forever. Is there a cure for secret rendez-vous à la chat ( Read more... )
