So Thursday to Saturday, I had no dial tone on my phone. Despite that, I still had my alarm system up and running, and internet access. I can't even explain how that's possible. I love when you phone a major service provider in order to cancel. As anyone who has done such a thing knows they love nothing more than to try to keep you. In this case, it was Bell and in regards to my internet (which I mentioned previously). The nice lady on the other end made plenty of offers to keep me, including better packages and even ( Read more... )

Bad: The problem was the line inside the house.

Good: The technician installed a demarkation box in the basement...and thus I had to pay nothing.

Seriously, if all of Bell's employees were as courteous and intelligent as their techs are, life would be good.

On top of everything else, the phone line is screwed. I was talking to a friend last night and got the absolute worst static you've ever heard. He called me back and we didn't know if it was his or ours. A short time later Carla phoned my cell phone because the house line was busy (which is impressive when no one is using it). So, strangest thing happened this afternoon. I phoned Bell Canada and not only had a nice, clearly speaking, woman on the phone, but she didn't offer me anything or push anything on me and was nothing but polite. Things could not have gone any smoother.

Then, about 10 minutes ago, something different happened.
