So Thursday to Saturday, I had no dial tone on my phone. Despite that, I still had my alarm system up and running, and internet access. I can't even explain how that's possible. Microsoft likes to update Windows. We all know that. Most computers are programmed from the store to run updates, usually at an odd hour unless you disable it...which, I thought I had done. So my ISP switched to TekSavvy yesterday. They phoned me today, a Sunday morning, to ensure that everything was working properly.

I like them already.

So, I recently tried returning to an online website I'm a member of (it's nothing raunchy you silly persons you). Short story long, I've not logged into the site in almost four years. I love when you phone a major service provider in order to cancel. As anyone who has done such a thing knows they love nothing more than to try to keep you. In this case, it was Bell and in regards to my internet (which I mentioned previously). Apparently I've got the best package I can have with Bell, and it is still simply nowhere near enough. I'm getting nailed for an extra 30 dollars a month usage thanks to my bandwidth. To put it in perspective, Bell caps at 60GB/month. I've been well over 100 for two of the last three months. I thought one month was because of computer repair ( Read more... )

Noticed a new little feature when I log into gmail: Buzz. Google's slapped down Yahoo in the search engine department, and MSN in the e-mail department (nevermind holding moderate ground against Firefox in web browsing), so I guess it only stands to reason they focus on the social network niche ( Read more... )
