Life has been a mixed bag lately.

Pro: Sara came to visit this past weekend! We went to the National Geographic Museum and saw their Titanic exhibit, which was pretty interesting. We also ate Malaysian food, talked about girly stuff, and did our traditional Starbucks/Barnes & Noble run. Good times!

Still looking for a job, and getting a bit frustrated by the whole process. I've been pretty productive so far today, but I still feel like I'm not making any progress at all. Guess it's just one of those days.

1. I'm a little bit freaked out about life...I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of time to get things done. My seminar paper (due Tuesday) is giving me the most angst, since I still have a lot of research and writing left to do! It's SO COLD here! I'm freezing even in my apartment with the heater on (not that it's doing much good...grr, stupid new climate-control units). Those of you who know how seldom I get cold will realize the enormity of this.

In other news, I had the WORST COMMUTE EVER this morning. ( Cut for substantial whining. )

Know what sucks? School and work. Being an adult is hard!

Okay, whining over. :) I just have a lot of things going on this week -- tons of homework, registration for spring classes on Wednesday, and a trip to Philly over the weekend to see Sara. At least the trip part will be fun! Too bad it can't be longer, but once again, stupid school and work!

It's official: I've reached the age where summer no longer brings any special joy. I guess that's the sign that I really am an adult now. :( It used to be all about freedom, sleeping in, trips to the pool, popsicles, spending hours at the library, and riding bikes with friends. So here's something awesome: this evening we had a huge thunderstorm complete with gusts of wind...and the screen in my bedroom window flew out! So now the screen is who knows where, and my window is screenless! Which means I can't open the window, which means it is about 100 degrees in my bedroom right now. So I was driving into Old Town Alexandria for work this afternoon. It's a cute little downtown area, very picturesque...the only problem is, there is NO PARKING. Okay, there's a lot of on-street parking, but I am a terrible parallel parker (I never had to learn how) and I always avoid it.
