Yesterday my grandparents (on my mom's side) celebrated their golden 50th wedding anniversary. We surprised them with lovely decorations, a nice dinner and a photo slideshow that my uncle put together for them. It was wonderful. Yesterday I went to my ENT doctor for the final follow-up of the septoplasty I had done in May. Since then, my septum has shifted back to where it was, restricting my comfortable breathing again. I went to the doctor for my follow-up appointment yesterday and she says the blockage on the right side of my septum is being caused by swelling. I sure hope she's right! I'm supposed to be getting a reorder prescription of a post-surgery anti-swelling medication but it got lost in translation and Acme is still trying to figure it out. Hopefully I ( Read more... )

Today I got the splints removed from my nose at the doctor's office. Septoplasty splints look like this. These things span the entire length of your nasal passage, so they had to be at least an inch-and-a-half long. And I'm like... My septoplasty went well yesterday. If you don't include wisdom tooth extraction this was my first ever surgery. I was waiting in the pre-op area for what seemed like an eternity before actually getting it done, and when I woke up from the anesthesia I felt like Mike Tyson knocked my face into next Tuesday. The weekend of the 7th and 8th were spent in NYC where I visited some friends and then mascotted in the Easter Parade with rapidtrabbit while wearing my blue bunny rental costume. Pretty disappoint in the Susan G. Komen people for pulling their funding from Planned Parenthood. I guess all the conservatives see PP as a baby-killing factory when they actually do a whole lot of other stuff. Good stuff!
