It's been 5 days since Ashur asked to nurse at night before bed. Our bedtime sessions were the last of his feedings, and I thought he would keep going... but ever since Christmas he's been increasingly less interested instead before bed he just asks to "snuggle onna couch with blue blankie" and so... we do. I have been struggling with a headache, stomach woes, plugged ears and generally feeling like poo. It started with a sore throat on Friday and then last night I got the worst stomach ache, which ended in throwing up, chills, sweats and terrible body aches. My boy has entered the stage of "there's far more interesting things to see/do than to be eating!" He's totally lost his focus, and will pop off and back on about 50 times during a feeding. This of course makes his feedings MUCH longer. Not that I mind... because I get to look down and see this:

oh clusterfeeding ...  A baby attached, slightly sleepy, half content, half frustrated nursing for the last 5 hours.

Can I trade in my nipples for some new, commercially industrial strength ones?

*whimper*

Just a short list.

- I have torpedo boobs.  My milk came in the day we were leaving the hospital. Nipples are doing ok. Haven't had any bleeding yet, but wow I can see how some Mom's just don't continue to breastfeed when they get so sensitive and latch can be such a challenge.
