The week's been up and down.
On the one hand, my truck suddenly stopped working on saturday. Like, it was working fine when I drove it to lunch and home from lunch and parked it. No lights, no problems, no funny sounds. I made it myself
So, something many of you won't know about me is that I knit. I haven't been doing it long, or anything. Basically, I have a lot of dear friends who knit. Row 52!
Whoo! The last of the border rows (read: funny stitches and counting to make the openwork pattern) is complete. And, this is the first place in a while where I am given a count on how many stitches across a row should be. And I have the right number of stitches (353). at row 39
In knitting news, I am up to row 39. This is about half-way through the lace border that goes along the bottom edges of the shawl. Lace rows go slowly. Even with decreasing on every row, rows are still over 300 stitches wide. However, once I finish the lace border, there is minimal lacework on the back and things should speed up significantly ( Read more... ) -
~9,000 stitches done
Figuring the total stitches done is difficult since this particular pattern starts at the bottom edge of the shawl as row one and then decreases down to the center of the neck.
