Going going gone
Yey, waiting in the airport to fly to NY and then onto Berlin. Thunderstorms in NY had grounded everything so it was dicey for a little bit, but I think I'll make my connection. another trip to home depot down...
i went to look for another section of trellis so i'd have 4 panels to make some sort of screen around my bee box so the neighbors don't freak. i also needed some waterproofing sealer so the cheap wood doesn't just rot away in one summer. ended up wandering into the greenhouse and picking up a huge bag of regular potting soil for flowers and baskets ( Read more... ) -

i got so much crap done at my house this weekend - finished painting my room (trim, ceiling, etc.), moved all my furniture back in there, put up a curtain where there's no door to the second bedroom, did laundry, reorganized the chest of drawers in my room and the second bedroom. jen told me i should start posting photos of before and after for the ( Read more... ) -

winter planning
i just ordered a copy of the Beekeeper's Handbook, 3rd edition. no joke, i want to do it. i always thought of it as a "some day" thing, but i realized, there's really no reason to put it off. my backyard isn't huge, but it's big enough for a hive, and i think it'd be totally cool to be out there in a bee suit, keeping the bees peaceful. in addition ( Read more... ) -
