winter planning
i just ordered a copy of the Beekeeper's Handbook, 3rd edition. no joke, i want to do it. i always thought of it as a "some day" thing, but i realized, there's really no reason to put it off. my backyard isn't huge, but it's big enough for a hive, and i think it'd be totally cool to be out there in a bee suit, keeping the bees peaceful. in addition, keeping the bees will help with my other goal of having gorgeous flowers and a raised-bed vegetable garden in the spring. i e-mailed someone from the central maryland beekeepers association to find out if there are any classes that he knows about in this area. i hope so, even if i have to wait until the spring, that would be totally cool. AND i could get all into candle making, too. yesssssss this kind of shit makes me so excited.
