I moved apartments over the weekend.  Only a block away in order to gain a roommate, but it’s not the distance one drives that is the main cause of stress when you move, but the packing, movement of heavy objects and the slow unpacking/adjustment of new environments.

Five years ago today, I was a first year PhD student who already hadn't done as much as I knew I had to on her project. I was sitting in the near empty PhD office in the Eareth Science department at UCL, listening to music on my iPod, when someone came in from the office next door and said, "Did you hear that bang?"

Second day of Learning Volunteer training is today, and I'm really lookign forward to it - despite now having a reputation as the urchin smasher. In the meantime, however: some pics!
