Today has been a day of mooching, weekly shopping (yay food!) and flinging myself against the brick wall that is Catch-22. This time around, I am liking the narrative a lot more, and having a deadline (tomorrow night, essentially) is helping the process along, but it still doesn't set my world on fire, and I really wish it did.

I started reading Day Watch today, which has so far turned out pretty damn amazing. I thought I'd be bereft without my Anton and his selfish jealousies, but it is actually quite awesome to see the world through a Dark Other's eyes. I don't know which is more disturbing: the fact that "Wicked" has a much higher level of sex, drugs and physical brutality than I was expecting, or the fact that I obtained this book through my Nana. Admittedly she gave up on it early on... and I NOW KNOW WHY.

1. Howl's Moving Castle. Saw it, picked it up, bought it for 10p. When I got home, I opened it... and discovered, written on the first page "to Catherine, Diana Wynne Jones"! It's from around 1988 as well, so about the same age as me. Is this not really, really cool?
