I have been crafting. Specifically a pair of horned headphone covers inspired by Eddie Grundy's cowboy hat and The Flower and Produce Show in The Archers for the 'Knit (or crochet) Radio 4' Challenge.
The handle fell off of my nice 7" frying pan the other day, the one I use for bacon and cheese dreams. And the lid of the saucepan we use for rice parted company with its handle at the same time. No problem. We are in the middle of the sale season so somewhere must have a good discount on quality kitchenware

I'm still crocheting like mad - have made a pair of slippers and am working on a cover for this netbook. I also have a copy of Mum's 'Needlewoman' from 1950 which only has one crochet pattern, for lacy white daytime gloves. I am tempted to try them in one of the new multi-coloured threads, but can't imagine any occasion these days too wear lace

I finished crocheting the hat that I'd picked as my first 'pattern' project (rather than just winging it as I usually do). Unfortunately what should look like a tea cosy is more like a pancake. Have undone most of the shaping and am preparing to go back to doing it my way.
I hope that the shawl which is my next project will work out better.
