X-Men: First Class recs

Jun 08, 2011 00:02

I'll tag and label this better later but this is going to be the list of X-Men: First Class fanworks I find worth reccing. Enjoy?

until proven guilty, anonymous writer, Darwin/Havok.
It starts out innocent, like the way the world is supposed to be, like children, like happiness, like justice.

[ending AU], anonymous writer, Charles/Erik
Prompt: Erik wants Charles by his side, and he doesn't give him the chance to refuse. No non-con, just Erik taking Charles with him despite the other's protests.

between rage and serenity, by oceansex/homoerotics, Charles/Erik
“What else did you see?” Erik asks suddenly, and Charles stiffens in his seat.

On Killing, by anonymous, gen so far
"Listen to me very carefully, my friend. Killing will not bring you peace."

The Expression of Emotion in Man and Animals, by
stripedpetunia, gen but slightly Darwin/Havok
Armando blinked, tried to arrange his thoughts. "What day is it?" he asked.

Response (at least I think that's the title?), anonymous writer, Charles/Erik
fun trope + acknowledging that Charles is kind of a privileged douche = a winner!

adagio, anonymous writer, Charles/Erik, WIP
Prompt: Erik was right after all. The government begins openly persecuting and exterminating the mutants. After Charles loses everything he ever loved, he realises that Erik was right all along and joins him. Bonus points for angry, hurting Charles mindfucking people so sadistically that he scares even Erik sometimes.
THIS ONE GETS THE IAMBIC DARKFIC STAMP OF APPROVAL IN ANTICIPATION. Also: incomplete as fuck.

Try, Try Again, anonymous writer, Charles/Erik
"I dreamed you got shot on a beach," he'll say. "You'll be glad to know it was all in glorious technicolor."
OH MY GOD THIS IS THE GROUNDHOG DAY FIC TO END ALL GROUNDHOG DAY FIC.

The Stranger at Xenophanes Hall, anonymous writer, Charles/Erik, WIP
IT'S A REGENCY AU AND IT IS FUCKING HILARIOUS AND THAT IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Snakes and Ladders Are Banned in Here, by paperclipbitch, Charles/Erik
Set post movie. They never meet in public; not for fear of getting caught, but because they’re too aware of innocent bystanders.

nuclear winter, by honey-wheeler, Charles/Erik
Set after the scene with Charles and Erik playing chess at the mansion. Erik and Charles take a night out among adults. Erik buys Charles a lapdance and watches. Angst and sexual tension and emotional torment are also involved.
This is angst of the highest quality, folks. It doesn't get much better than this.

Call Me By His Name, by sinuous-curve, Charles/Erik
There is an empty space in his room, beside his bed. Not quiet as in an abandoned room, but utterly, featurelessly blank. Like a box made of unblemished, impenetrable metal and Charles knows before he opens his eyes.
I can't speak for accuracy but it's wildly in-character and hot and also deals nicely with the fact that Charles can't feel his lower half.

jouissance, anonymous writer, Charles/Erik
“You could stop this bullet,” Charles said. “In a moment, in a thought - but you don't have to. Because I will never shoot you.”
Gunplay. Done very, very, very well.

again from the start, anonymous writer, Charles/Erik
In which Charles goes back to WWII and changes the past.

Break, by serenity-fails, Alex/Darwin
In which Darwin miraculously turns up at the Xavier Institute.
