It's my 25th reunion year for college, and once everything with the former president settled down, I decided to attend a few things--the concert and game like I've been doing, plus the tailgate/reception prior to the game. A couple weeks ago, the Homecoming flier had gone out, and Avery reached out about the concert. We started going back and forth a few times, and then after Labor Day the email she sent seemed to not need a reply, so I let it be. The game this year was going to be different no matter what. With Dr. K not doing the marching band anymore, at the very least I would be sitting someplace differently. There was no Homecoming, for all intents and purposes, back in 2020 (as well as no football season since we're DIII), and while there were some activities last year, there wasn't a concert. It's been nearly two years since I attended a football game; D-III schools did not play any last year that I'm aware of, which of course means NCC remains the reigning national champions. I got an email from NCC today; all Homecoming activities are canceled. This really isn't a surprise, in part because dad mentioned the other day that all NCC's fall sports were canceled or postponed.
