A couple weeks ago, the Homecoming flier had gone out, and Avery reached out about the concert. We started going back and forth a few times, and then after Labor Day the email she sent seemed to not need a reply, so I let it be. Then work got crazy and zapped all my energy and I basically forgot about it. After a week, I got this apology from her--she was worried that what she'd put in that last email was rude, and as one of her longtime friends she didn't want to be rude to me. Oh, my goodness. I explained what had happened on my end and told her not to worry. Basically, she may have plans the night of the Homecoming football game, as some of her theater friends may or may not have a party the same day. Honey, you go have fun. Don't apologize for having a life. If the party does end up falling on that day, she may end up going to half the game and leaving at, well, halftime--but it would be a costume party, so she'd come in costume. ...I might pay to see that, actually! So yeah, either way, could be fun.
Since it's our reunion year, I'm debating about what all I want to do, and I let her know I printed out the full-on form since they no longer include it with the mailing. I let her know about the long line at the football game last year, so I want to get a ticket ahead of time, and the reunion meal is now tailgating before the game, but I mean, I might just do it. And after years of my getting concert tickets for her, she has repaid the favor and gotten me a concert ticket this year. I'd let her know that the website the school used last year was less than ideal, so I wasn't going that route this year, but I'd had to do that since the box office wasn't open any time I was available. She ended up hedging her bets on that one, as she replied to me really late at night and I didn't see it for almost 24 hours, having said she was going to get tickets the next day and would I like her to get me one. It's totally fine. One less thing to worry about. It's in just over a month, too.
