...I was awakened by a very loud honking noise, like a lot of big birds going nuts right outside my window. I looked out the window and didn't see anything, and the sound went away. Apparently Bondville didn't contract for road plowing this winter. Guess that explains why the whole place is still basically streetless. I mean, you can kind of guess where the streets oughta be.

So we are waiting for our Chinese takeaway, and some little old dude comes in and orders a white rice to go. Period.

Okey-dokey.

(For the record, we are getting Very Juicy Duck and Tangy and Spicy Green Beans. I think I may have the name of the duck dish wrong, but it is very exciting nonetheless.)

We got hit with a wild storm last night. The trees were whipping around like crazy, there was near-constant lightning, the rain was intense, and the power cut out twice (but only briefly). A tree across the street got ripped up, and quite a bit of it was lying across the road, blocking it, until some guys with a forklift came along at midnightish ( Read more... )
