I got back from Springfield on Friday.  Overall, it was pretty good.  Specific things:

1. I did not have a nervous breakdown, though I was a little snarkier than my parents would have liked.

2. We passed by our old house.  It has switched owners some 3-4 times since we left, and one of them lost their mind and got rid of the above-ground swimming ( Read more... )

1. I went to Six Flags St. Louis yesterday with my family.  Some people have Disneyland/Disney World, some people have Busch Gardens, some people have Holiday World, but Six Flags is my personal "Happiest Place on Earth" amusement park.  We rode Batman: The Ride three times because my mother went on it for the first time yesterday and absolutely ( Read more... )

On one hand: Lake of the Ozarks, good.  Fun little cousins, good.  Relatives from Minnesota, good.

On the other hand: Laura the Queen of Bitchery, bad.  Neurotic control-freak Aunt Brigid, bad.  My 8-year-old cousin Jack (Brigid's oldest child), bad.
