My Sunday afternoon Eberron campaign has come to an abrupt and grinding halt.

After spending all day Saturday with Jeremy, as he helped me offload the contents of the PODS unit into my apartment, I decided I was too tired and sore to canvass for Gary Peters. So on a whim, I drove to Southgate to get a little gaming in.

Monster Island, the first-of-its-kind Massively Multiplayer Play-by-Mail Game, is coming to an end.

I got into MI way back in 1989 while I was stationed in Korea, and played it fairly continuously through 2003. One of my handful of published gaming articles was aboutMI, and appeared in the long-dead magazine Paper Mayhem back in 1993.

The Sunday campaign went well. There was considerable exposition, calling for moderate roleplaying on everyone's part -- a marked contrast from the nonstop combat of the last three sessions.

 I met Gary Gygax briefly (like, handshake-briefly) on two occasions: The Gen Con XIV convention in Kenosha, Wisconsin back in 1981, and again last year, also at Gen Con (now in Indianapolis) where a visibly-ailing Gygax was the Guest of Honor.
