Sunday Game Update

Apr 13, 2008 22:12

The Sunday campaign went well. There was considerable exposition, calling for moderate roleplaying on everyone's part -- a marked contrast from the nonstop combat of the last three sessions.

I also got a chance to use a neat piece of styrofoam as a combat arena, which also was an excuse to use the 3-D stackable terrain from Heroscape. The pretext was a test-by-combat to see if the adventurers could really be figures from the Draconic Prophecy. It was a chance to close several hanging plot threads, and for the players to get revenge on NPCs who had vexed them in the past. A pesky psionic Blue Goblin went down, as did a former PC-turned-NPC traitor.

Three of the five combats were completed before time ran out. All three were close and exciting, with only one bit of DM fiat (an inactive PC intervened to save the Druid's life, allowing her to turn the tables and win her match against the ex-PC Bard).

Next week, the Main Events.
