Why in the world is the word "egaltarian" and not "equaltarian" when the word deals specifically with the concept of equality and is also derived from the same Latin word that "equality" is derived from. Discuss.

Wait, wait, wait, stop the presses.

I was just reading the news and came across a column on the low down of the recent writer's strike. I really didn't pay much attention to the strike because very little of the programming I watch on TV was affected by it. ( However, to be perfectly honest, I generally don't like unions... )

Yeah, so what's the deal with this word/expression/utterance/whatever? It already existed in text form as 'enh' for at least 40 or 50 years prior to the appearance of 'meh'. And then, in 2001 I think, The Simpsons came along and used the previously unseen spelling of 'meh' and now everyone uses it. Furthermore, the sound of indifference one makes ( Read more... )
