I nearly forgot to post today!

It's been a good day but I haven't sat down much! Had my exit tutorial at college this morning - how on earth has that come round so quickly?! I'm on course for a merit in all four units but I still have three assignments to hand in so won't know for sure until they are done and given back. Still not much clearer on what I'm doing in September but the course tutor is going to contact the leader of the course I want to do and give her a bit of a reminder, I think. We shall see.

Came home, made soup with the remainder of the veg from the veg box, ate it with the crust of the wholemeal loaf I made in the breadmaker the other day, and then went into town with my second pair of sandals, because the soles split after a week. Very very much not impressed. :-( This time I asked for a refund and took my money elsewhere, though when I didn't find what I was looking for after several shops I though I was going to have to swallow my pride and go back in Shoezone again! I wanted sturdy practical sandals, and there were lots of those for men, but my feet aren't big enough, and all the women's sandals looked as though they would fall apart at any moment. Grrrr. Millets saved me with their boys' Peter Storm walking sandals which in the sale cost £7.99. As I'd just got a refund of £14.99 for the rubbish sandals, I saved myself seven quid and got far, far better sandals into the bargain! :-)

Walked home via Dunelm to pick up a desk fan for my mum (she saw mine yesterday and said "I want one!") and then via Tesco where I bought what will hopefully be a whole week's shopping. Because of the milk, eggs and veg boxes being delivered now, and making bread in the breadmaker, I was able to carry what I bought home on foot, thus saving petrol too. It cost less than I had set aside for weekly Tesco shopping too so I was very pleased.

Collected children from school, went round to Mum's with her fan and assembled it for her. She was delighted. Drank a cup of tea in her garden. Came home, washed up all the soup pans, blender jugs etc. from lunchtime then sat down with a mug of tea in the living room where One was watching the end of the football. Fell asleep accidentally. Keep doing that, oops!

Doled out home made bread, cheese and birthday cake for tea then wrote the introduction to assignment number one of the remaining three before starting the long and arduous process of getting people to bed and getting them to stay there! *grin* Little Three is feeling particularly insecure at the moment; I think she is just starting to think about the fact that daddy doesn't live here any more, and what if mummy goes too. She kept hugging me and saying 'Mummy, if you weren't here, I couldn't cope'. I gave her lots of reassurance and tried to temper all the love and hugs with a bit of slightly sterner 'you need to go to bed and I promise I am just down here right underneath your bedroom'.

Then she came down again because she needed the loo and Two was in residence, and she didn't want to use the outside loo because it was raining. Went upstairs to discover Two sitting on the loo playing with his DS, which I had told him not to play with after bedtime! That was swiftly confiscated till tomorrow! He soon finished on the loo after that, LOL! I went to the outside one instead, and as I went out in the rain I spotted the washing on the line which I'd hung out so early this morning that I'd forgotten I'd done it! Now totally soggy with rain, bother! I've left it out there in the hope it dries tomorrow instead!

Watched Brazil thrash Chile, then watched Casualty on iplayer from Saturday, then watched random bits and pieces for a while. Now bed; it's another busy day tomorrow and I'm wondering what the weather will be like for Two's sports day in the afternoon!
