Okay, for once even I am fed up with the hurricane hype.

I checked the news this morning and immediately saw "Weather Service Warns of Certain Death in Face of Ike."

Of course, I'm thinking, "Oh man, did it strengthen again? What is it--a four, a five?"
It's a category two with 110 mph winds.

It's now windy and sunny. Most of Hanna passed west of us and, by the time it got this far north, winds were down to about 40 mph...so like a nor'easter in summer.
However, Elizabeth City is underwater so I'm housebound until sometime tomorrow afternoon.

We have a state of emergency for Hanna and we're under a tropical storm warning. Joy.
I just hope I'm not driving in that crap tomorrow.
We shouldn't get much out of it besides excessive rain...unless Ike follows right behind it.

Some unsolicited advice...
If you're in the path of Hurricane Gustav, GET THE FUCK OUT! If you can get yourself out and know anyone who can't, TAKE THEM WITH YOU!
Seriously...You know how cavalier I am about hurricanes. If I of all people am saying this, you should probably listen.
