We have a state of emergency for Hanna and we're under a tropical storm warning. Joy.
I just hope I'm not driving in that crap tomorrow.
We shouldn't get much out of it besides excessive rain...unless Ike follows right behind it.

So we don't know much about him yet...It all depends on if he hits FL or makes that turn up the coast.
However, this doesn't look encouraging...for FL OR NC: Wind speed predictions
So, early next week I get to add getting rid of the last of the smaller tornado debris to my already full to-do list.
Today I have to get to EC (in case it floods and I can't get in over the weekend). As usual, I've run out of stuff right before a potential storm...so I have to fight the bread-mongers.
Hope my Floridians aren't getting beat up too bad and that you guys don't get a dose of Ike.

Since I never posted a reaction to Obama's DNC speech, I figured I'd at least give you video of how I spent the night...particularly for those of you who have never seen me in person.
Yep, that's me...toasting the evening with cheap wine coolers.
The watch party itself...It was a reunion of sorts for all of us who worked in the grassroots primary. I'm way in the back--I got there late and needed my "short person stool" to see the TV.

Delton (our field organizer) and I. He had a nasty cold...This photo is proof for the higher ups that he really was sick, not drunk, when they called in that evening.
I also got to spend time with Hez again, who I worked with a lot in the grassroots portion of the primary. He's all kinds of awesome and has the most amazing stories. I love/admire him and his wife so much.
An interview with him regarding his role (in the 101 Airborne) in the Little Rock school desegregation.
What an incredible guy.
Okay, rain's slacked up for the moment and I've done everything I need to BEFORE leaving. No excuse to procrastinate further.
