Where did the summer go?
Our vacation (just a week ago) seems so far away now. It's amazing what a week back at work will do to you. :O
It's starting to sink in that our time with The Boy is running out. I'll have to drive him back to L.A. around Sept. 20, which is less than a month away. He's been busy working all summer, and has vacation plans with his uncle coming up ( Read more... ) -

Back at work, plugging and chugging away. After a week off, I feel bad leaving HalfshellHusband at home alone. More and more, retirement is looking like a good idea, though the health insurance issue is the biggest obstacle. Speaking of which ( Read more... ) -

There's still time to sign up for Season 10 of LJ Idol! The deadline will probably be sometime next week, so don't too long. :)

You know, I did not realize that Election Day was Nov. 1. I'm so used to it being around the 7th/8th that I forgot about the Monday Halloween implications. Nuts. Hipnotic changes
Well, Halfshellhusband got moved up in the surgery schedule for his hip replacement! There's an opening tomorrow, and the cardiologist who did the pacemaker said it was okay to have the additional surgery. SO... it's 11 days earlier than the postponed date would have been. Which really matters when the pain is so severe and it's a day-to-day ( Read more... ) -
Today is (and apparently yesterday also was)...
... Drop All The Things Day. Seriously, I whacked my pill container off my desk twice yesterday, spilling pills and vitamins all over the floor of my cubicle (it's not an official container, it's a small metal breath-mint tin, for reasons of size and flatness). - The Hat: No one has admitted to knowing anything about the bird's nest in my gardening hat. It seems like something our son might do, but he says not. HOW could that have gotten in there? There is still nest debris on the garage workbench that I need to clean up.
